SC

In a nutshell...

The AMUN is a 3-day simulation of the work of the United Nations. Senior High School students participate representing a country or an organisation in various UN forums, like the General Assembly and its committees, the Economic and Social Council and the Security Council. It is an opportunity for students to tackle world issues that often remain uncovered by mainstream media and to better understand the workings of international diplomacy while improving their rhetorical skills. The official and working language of the conference is English.

In the eighteen sessions held since 1998, over 2500 students have participated in AMUN.

Organisation

The AMUN is organised by the Hellenic Model United Nations Organisation and the day-to-day management of the conference is carried out by an Organising Team consisting of undergraduate and graduate students with significant experience in MUN.

Upcoming session: March 17-19, 2017

The 20th Annual Session of the Athens Model United Nations will take place in March 17-19, 2017 at the Novotel Hotel Athens.
